It’s been a while since I saw a list of a Brazilian website comparing things we could buy with the price of a bus ticket. I thought the idea was interesting and I’ve applied it to Helsinki. As I live in Espoo and I have to use the regional ticket. With that our guideline cost is of € 5,50.

Let’s get to the list!
1. Entrance to the Uimahalli
A day pass to the city indoor swimming pools cost € 5,50.
2- Breakfast at Ikea
It costs € 5,49 and if you have the Ikea Family Card, you’ll even save an Euro!
With € 5.50 you fill 4 liters of gas to your car!
4- Crispy Chicken Meal at Burger King
The combo costs € 5.30 and they’ll give you 20 cents back.
5- Small popcorn + medium drink at Finkino (movies)
The combo costs € 5.45 and you get your change back.
6- City Bikes
Helsinki and the regional area have a bicycle system during summer. You pay € 5.00 for 24 hours.
7- H&M Blouses
In H&M you’ll buy a sleeveless blouse for € 4.99. You will get 50 cents back as they don’t use one cent coins here.
8- Plastic bottle + two Mars chocolates at Tiger’s
Tiger is a store that you’ll find a little bit of everything. It’s one of those shops that sell thousands of stuff. A water bottle plus two chocolates will cost you € 5.00. Oh … and they still give you change.
Has the rainy season started? At Tiger you get an umbrella for € 5.00.
10- Notebook + Chocolate Mars
Do you need a notebook? Tiger also has it and plus two chocolates you take them home for € 5.00.
11- USB Cable
Told you, you can find anything at Tiger. So, if you need a USB cable, you take one for € 5,00.
12- Earphone + Chocolate Mars
For € 5.00 you can go home with an earphone plus one chocolate from Tiger.
13- Hot Single NYX Shadow
Do you like makeup? For € 4.90 you buy an eye shadow and still have some change back.
14- Makeup Sponges
Makeup sponges are very useful and some brands are very expensive. Here you can find a package with several disposable ones for € 4.90.
15- H&M Makeup Brush Cleanser Spray
For € 4.99 you buy 100ml spray bottle to clean your makeup brushes at home.
16- Finnish candy
Every market has a section with Finnish candies. You grab a bag and fill it with whatever kind you like. You pay them by weight and 380 g costs € 5.50.
17- Ice cream
Finns have ice cream both in summer and winter. 3 scoops cost € 4.90.
18- Fazer’s chocolate bars
You take 2 bars of the most traditional chocolate in Finland for € 4.90.
For € 5.34 you take 6 liters of whole milk home and still have a few cents left.
Blueberries are very typical here and 600g costs € 5.50.
21- Sandwich at Robert Coffee
You didn’t manage to have lunch and need something fast? At Robert Coffee a sandwich will cost you € 5.20.
22- Rose Bouquet
For € 5,00 you take a bouquet with 6 roses home!
And for € 5.50, you take a small orchid home!
24 – Potato
Everybody in the country has potato at home. It’s always at the top of the shopping list and with € 5.31, do you have a clue of how much potatoes you can take home? 9 kgs .. that’s right!
25 – Mukkis with raspberry jam
They are a sweet loaf and with € 5,50 you take 8 of them home!
