Vic Ceridono X MAC – Review and the Story of a Lipstick Travelling to Finland
I spoke a bit about Vic Ceridono’s lipstick for MAC in the Love list video of September, but I had not come here to share the story of it and do a review for you!
I’ll tell you, this lipstick has traveled already (lol) seriously! So prepare a cup of tea or coffee, sit down and relax, because there’s a story to come! hahaha
For those who do not know this collection that MAC did, she chose 10 influencers from different countries and the lipsticks were sold only where each one came from! Each of them made their dream lipstick and chose the colour they wanted! In Vic’s (from the blog Dia de Beauté) case, she chose a red one and it was sold only in Brazil! Not to say it was a limited edition! So, can you imagine all the fuzz on this for makeup lovers?
I was following all about hers, but as I’m in Finland, I did not even thought in buying it. I was already imagining the logistics that would be to buy online or ask someone to go to Sephora (and it wasn’t sold in all physical stores). So I sort of unleashed it!
However, an opportunity I really didn’t expect appeared! Yes, because seeing me watch Vic’s videos and talk of them, who suggested that I should buy the lipstick was my HUSBAND (!!), can you believe it? LOL when he told me, I thought he was kind of weird! I asked him 50,000 times if he was not just saying it or if he was sure of it!
The prices of a MAC lipstick in Brazil aren’t quite cheap. Having to pay the shipping on top of that, makes it worst. So, that was kind of surreal to me at that moment! But I decided to check it and give it a try!
I discovered that it was practically out of stock in most physical stores and there were no more in the online store! It couldn’t be true.. come on! Now that my husband had lighten it up, I would not be able to buy it? It was very unlucky indeed! But… Vic is very sweet and, together with her team, they set up a group so girls in other states that still had the lipstick, could help others who weren’t able to buy it on their city! It’s that awesome???
I found this initiative fantastic. Not only for having how to buy the lipstick, but for the fact that girls who have never seen each other in life have united for a greater good! You may think a lipstick is futile, maybe it is, but I see something bigger behind it! Many have traveled thousands of times to the store, paid gas from their own pockets, lost their time going to the post office, but still sent each one of them with the greatest affection! I swear, these gestures are priceless!
Even the girl who bought me had the request record. She bought more than 100 lipsticks! Do you have any idea what it’s like to do this to strangers? When I see things like this, a huge hope comes to my heart that humanity still has a solution! Because they were all joined by a lipstick. A lipstick that already comes with an extra dose of love and that as a gift, raises the self-esteem of thousands of girls around the world!
Makeup is often seen as futility, but not everyone thinks of what it really is! It’s not something just to paint the face! It’s more than that. It is an instrument that can change lives through what it represents for each person! I started a makeup course recently and, more and more, I see how it can be transforming!
But back to the lipstick lol… I got mine in a different state and they shipped it to my city! From there it had to wait a bit, but in September it finally got to me! I have to say it was pretty fast actually, considering that they launched it on August 16th hehe
And what did I think of the lipstick?
I liked the color a lot and, despite being unused to red, it is a shade that was good in all mouths I saw, including mine! I used red lipstick for 3 years in a row (obligatorily) when working in an airline. That’s why it’s harder to see me today with a deeper color on my face! I think at the time I got tired of seeing me always with the same style (lol). However, to use red again after all the story I’ve just shared, has a special taste!
It’s a more deep red tone, with a rosy that goes towards a wine shade. According to Vic, it would be Ruby Woo’s marriage to Diva, both from MAC. But what I realized, is that it varies from mouth to mouth and can get more vivid in some and more intense and dark in others. It depends a lot on the light too! It is matte finish and the durability is very good.
Anyway, I love Vic and loved the lipstick too! I was happy to be able to buy it even though living that far away from Brazil! At the end, I think it was an investment for me, because I’m debuting again into reds with it! Surely, you’ll see it more and more in my Instagram photos!
Did you like the color? Who was the influencer where you come from?
