DIY – Valentine’s Day
I think we have never celebrated Valentine’s day before! I did when I was a kid in school, but not with my husband. In Brazil, we celebrate it in the 12th of June which is the day before Saint Anthony of Paduas’ Day and he is known as the marriage saint!
As the 14th is approaching, I decided to look up a few cute ideas for the day, I’ve chosen some from the internet and they are simple gifts that you can make at home to those you love! I particularly love handmade gifts and as people celebrated it here, let get on to it too!
Cute Valentine Cards
1. Couple Hot Air Balloon Card | Theadoration (Etsy)
This is a beautiful idea! I love hot air balloons, I think they are soo romantic and imagine if we could have a ride in a real one with a heart shape? It would be awesome! I felt in love with this one!
2. BEE MINE | Lauren Conrad
Do you know those honey straws (which I particularly love)? So, this is really simple. Buy one, get a nice paper, a pen, be creative and voilà… there it is!
I also think that the celebration has to start in the morning! There is nothing better than waking up with a surprise or even having breakfast together, don’t you think? I found these cute ideas and the entire family can hang out together or even make it for the two of you. And they are very simple to do too!
1. Heart Pancakes | One Creative Mommy
Pancakes are always welcome at our home! We make the regular recipe; with bananas or other fruit in the dough; we mix chia, amaranth, flax seed or whatever we feel like eating it with and it never goes wrong! They are always delicious! With the instructions below, you will be able to make all your beautiful pancakes in a easy heart shape!
2. Toast | Dagmar’s Home
If you do not have a heart-shaped cutter to cut the toast, a knife will do the job! Cut all the toasts before putting it in the frying pan and if you like, you can put one side of the toast before placing the egg so both sides get crunchy!
3. Fruit Salad | A Designer Life
To cut the fruit is very simple. In any shop that sells pastry accessories, you will find a heart-shaped cutter! This is such a healthy idea and really easy to do! A perfect way of making the kids have some fruits if they struggle to eat them too!
See? We don’t need expensive gifts to make this a special day! At the end of the day, what really matters is caring! And when we put our effort, our time and our love, I think that there’s no money that pays for these moments!
So, hands on as you have the entire weekend to work on a special something for the people you love! Ahh .. and if you can’t celebrate it on Tuesday, it’s ok! Every day is a day to celebrate the love, isn’t it? Just enjoy your special day on Saturday or Sunday!
Spread the love and I wish you all a Happy Valentine’s Day!
