Let’s Party! It’s My Birthday!
Yuppie!! Yesterday was my birthday and I think that people who know me, know that I love birthdays!
OMG… I am now definitely getting out of the 30 area and heading towards 35! That sounds soo weird! Really, I might have a body age of 32, as that’s the age I turned to yesterday, but my soul doesn’t feel the same! I’ll also have to confess that last year I would even forget and tell people I was still 30. I swear it wasn’t on purpose. I guess I got stuck somewhere there and did not had the click that it passed! Probably because I really enjoyed it!
I had such a wonderful day yesterday! The sun shined bright very early and I was thankful to have a beautiful blue sky to start my new year! I really got spoiled with love coming from all places around the globe! Thank you for each of you who called, texted me, sent messages, sent videos, skyped… I couldn’t had been more happier! I just adore receiving hugs and kisses (even the virtual ones) and all of the love really fulfilled my heart! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I am making a small celebration on Sunday and I always get super excited! I start planing it in advance, I think what I will cook, what flavor my cake will be and so on! I thought for a while what I would do, as we don’t have to much space and big pans to cook! So first I thought of just going out to a pub and that would be easier!
Although, for the last 3 years, I have made a feijoada for my birthday! If you never had a feijoada before, you are missing it! It is a traditional dish from Brazil with black beans and meat and it is delicious! I learnt how to do it for the first time I made it back in 2014 and after that, it became a traditional way of celebrating my day.
So I thought it couldn’t be different and decided to continue the tradition. Here comes the 4th Lili’s Feijoada in Finland! Isn’t that super exciting?? We’ll have friends of other nationalities that had never tried it before and I am happy to introduce to them a bit of our Brazilian food.
Apart of that, it feels so good to bring a bit of home to our new home and share these moments with new friends. And even give the opportunity to my new Brazilian friends here to enjoy it too! And I can say that it will be an authentic one, as almost – not to say all -of the ingredients came from Brazil!
I guess you can notice how delighted I am with all of this! I really enjoy celebrating my birthday! It’s like it is my special day, the day where I get to do whatever I want, that I get spoiled and no one can blame me! LOL!
Follow my Snapchat and Instagram (both @heyiamlili) this weekend to see all the preps! We are hands on, so everything will be made at home!
Oh… and if you haven’t sent me happy birthday yet, don’t worry! You still have time and I will love to hear from you!
Be welcome 32, let’s rock it out!
