Big day tomorrow! We complete our first year in Finland. One year. It went so fast and frankly, we didn’t even feel it! And I have a theory for that. People usually say that when we are having fun, time flies, right? So, I think that when we are having a good time, life also flies!
To be hobest, I feel that life is always running over us. There’s no time to lose and each day more, we have to live the today! So I think this may be one of the reason time has passed so fast!
We came with an open heart. We came to challenge ourselves with what was new, to respect the differences, to accept that we would have a different lifestyle and to be thankful – always – for every opportunity that would come along the way. Moreover, life has been very generous to us. We don’t live with luxury, we live in a student apartment, we have a student lifestyle (even been over 30) and this is no shame to anyone. Do you know why? Because when we invest in ourselves, when we step back, we see that we have an entire world waiting for us ahead!
This hasn’t been a easy year. There were many challenges, many ups and downs, many frustrations. However, we went through each one together, willing to overcome them!
Many people see Finland as the perfect country. The country that everything works out, that people are happy, that the government works, that is the country of the Magic World of Oz. But it’s not. There are many problems that society faces, both Finns and foreigners.
But I’m not here to complain. By the way, this was something that I didn’t give myself the right to do in the past year. No matter what happened. Everyone will always have problems. Human beings love to create problems. How you live and deal with them is your choice. I decided not to regard them as problems, but as unwanted situations that need solutions.
With this said, we end up this first year more mature, more united and way more stronger. We close it with the desire to always look to the future with the eyes of those who live and accomplish, not with those who live to one day make things come true. Living is for now, not tomorrow. Go after your dreams. Do not expect anyone to do it for you, because no one is going to work so hard for them like you!
Gratitude is what I feel. I feel I have evolved a lot as a human being and am grateful for having the opportunity to make both my and my husbands, dreams come true!
In today’s post for the Brazilian platform I write monthly, I share a subject that needs a lot of attention and care! It is a matter that affects the entire society and the countries economy. A matter that becomes (then yes) a public health problem! I’m sure it’s the deepest article I’ve ever written for them. I really hop you read and reflect on it! In fact, there is a short documentary in English that shows the reality that is often hidden of the world!
