Summer was quite busy here and we made several cycling trips. The last one was to Lahti. A city that is more than 100km from Helsinki and we couldn’t do it a turn-around! So we got a couchsurfing and slept for free!
Can you believe we cycled all this? Do think I survived at the end? Do you know what is Couchsurfing?
So, first things first, click here and subscribe to the channel! Give it a thumbs-up as this motivates me to continue and also helps me to know if you are liking it!! Now you can hit play and hope you like it!
Staying in a Couchsurfing is very simple. You can make your profile through their website (couchsurfing.com) and request accommodation anywhere in the world! We were very lucky to have an entire house for ourselves, but sharing the accommodation is also fine!
For those who want to know more about the city of Lahti, it is the 8th largest city in Finland and the region is very nice! Because despite being an important business hub for Finland, you can still rent a mökki (cottage) to spend the weekend near the lake! The Sibeliustalo is also wonderful and I really wished we could have been able to get in! It’s acoustic structure called glulam seems to be fantastic! In addition, there are parks to do trails or camping, museums, the harbor with several restaurants around, a sports center (where even was the FIS Nordic Ski World Championship this year) and many other activities!
Anyway, I think staying in a Couchsurfing is a good way to travel and save money at the same time! And I believe that there are trips that are worth having this type of option!
