A Tour Around the World
Chatting with a friend last week and brainstorming about blog posts, a nice idea came up to make a tour around the world serie with some of the places I’ve traveled! For those who read the post about the 10 Destinations for 2017, may have noticed that I have visited at least 50 countries!
I’ve been to many other airports but, by another friend’s theory, we can only assume that we know a place from the moment we leave the airport! Haha unfortunately, from the 70 countries that I have already been, in fact, I can only consider 50!
My Updated World Logbook
Between 2008 and 2011, I had the opportunity to literally travel the world! I went from north to south, east to west; and I went through places I had never imagined I would go! Writing this, I realized that there are many of them that I would love to go back some day and explore them more! At first, I thought about ranking the 3 places I liked the most, but that sounded impossible when I really focused on it!
I had practically 24 hours in each destination and needed to take advantage of it. There has never been a single day that I did not think in going out. I could be in a lack of sleep for 48 hours, but that was no excuse! There was always a beautiful day out there waiting for me to explore or to be rediscovered! The only reasons I would stay inside a hotel was when I did not feel safe walking by myself, when we did not had enough time at the layovers or we would stay in resorts. And I can say that this happened in only a few places.
Dhaka was one of them. I always wanted to see a project that Emirates supported there. On many of the trips, dozens of donations were taken and distributed by The Dhaka Project; a project created by a Portuguese crew member to help children in need! But walking alone in the city was not a simple thing, and because of that I never had the chance to visit it with any other crew member!
The good thing is that we stayed in a nice hotel! I remember that the restaurante was great and it would always be an event having all the crew during the meals. But Dhaka doesn’t bring me good memories apart from the hotel. Our hotel / airport ride was not the nicest, not even getting at the bus in the airport. We were always surrounded by security guards so the children would not come to us; and both us and them, would be rebuked if we gave any kind of tip or food to them. Do you remember the movie Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? This reality unfortunately exists and one of the places is there!
Other than that, I do not remember of not enjoying the trip somehow! Even when I went there, I tried to make the best of it. I would watch movies, have a massage, eat with the crew and depending on my condition haha would sleep a lot!
How did you like this ootd (outlook of the day) from my old days? Hehe

I’ll have to dig into my memories and photos to share some of them with you! It will be very challenging and I really hope you like this idea, because I really got excited!
So stay tuned, as we’ll have more post like this around here!
