Walt Disney as an Inspiration
Do you have a famous figure that you admire? That person that you look at and say: wow, this person had a great purpose in life! Well, I do and it’s Walt Disney!
He’s not the only one I admire, by the way! Although, his brilliant mind, creativity and his passion in realizing dreams, is what catches my heart! Since back in 2005, when I worked as a cast member at Disney World, my admiration for his work has begun stronger.
I have this thing that I always get to talk about dreams. I guess that having my zodiac sign in Pisces has made me be a convicted dreamer. Probably, that is one of the points that most get me near of him, as he was know as ‘the man who believed in dreams’! And I do too. When I had the pastry atelier, my happiest moments were when I saw someone’s dream come true!
You know, working hard to have everything ready for a wedding, a birthday or any other celebration that would be someone else’s dream, would really fulfill my heart! I would feel I had won something every time I saw a smiling face in return. It would be the best and warmest thank you I would receive and all my tiredness of the hard work, would relieve!
Walt Disney never gave up, even on the hardest times. He had a life with many up’s and down’s, with little money and having to work in different things to achieve his goals. Therefore, apart of anything, he stick to what he believed and things started to happen.
What this all means is that we have to follow our heart. We have to listen to what it says. Otherwise, we just work in automatic. Everyone has something they dream of! It could be a trip of their lives, a career, forming a family, being a mother. It doesn’t matter what wish it is, as there are so many possibilities in life. Moreover, they don’t have to be huge ones either. You can have many small ones and accomplish them one-by-one, right?
I guess that, when we admire someone is because we see something on them that it is similar to us, that we would like to achieve or be the same! Look around and see who are those people that you admire. See if their values are the ones you see on yourself!
In Disney World, people weren’t different from each other! One of the things that I would love, was seeing everyone going back to their childhood. Age wouldn’t matter at all! That feeling of freedom and happiness was contagious! You could feel it, wherever you would go!
Be near of people that have the same values as you. Work hard, but make more of what makes you happy. Be grateful to attract other things you will be grateful for. Realize dreams and never forget to smile!
As Walt Disney would say: ‘Laughter is timeless, imagination has no age, and dreams are forever.’
It is so amazing that even after so many years, Disney’s desire of making people happy and following their dreams still reigns. This is what a mindset can do. Dream, focus and achieve. And you will leave a legacy to the world.
Who do you admire and why?
