Why a blog?
How many dreams do you need to accomplish in your life? Every year, there are always those lists of things that we would like to have, things to do, to improve and so on, right? Is not different for me here! Now, why are you associating this to a blog, Lili?
Well, who has been around me knows that I have never aimed about it. I love blogs, I read tons of them; follow several bloggers in all social media, but to have one? Oh yeah.. let me tell you that this wasn’t something in my list since always! Don’t get me wrong, I love to write but wait, let me explain you better!
In the past years, I have been a pastry businessperson that had a good life, but sometimes crazy and with no routine! This year, I saw myself in a situation that I had to decide in supporting my husband and leave everything or be selfish and think only in my company.
For me, to build a family one needs to donate a lot and support our loved ones the best way possible! Because of that, I embraced the cause, closed my atelier and moved abroad. Ahh Lili, that’s why you were talking about dreams? Yeees.. and here we are to make the best of it!!
Since the beginning what I most felt about was not only closing my atelier, but also not to have how to share a little of all the stories we made part of! There where parties of every size, always full of love and I felt fulfilled every time I saw the cake and sweet table ready and delivered! So I thought, in a blog I can share many stories, not only mine but about other things I like and from life in general!
I had it on me until I had the courage to tell my hubby! You know how it is; sometimes we all have this fear of how people are going to react, if they will think it is a good idea and if it is something that has to do with you! Gordo (that is how I call my husband) supported me, helped me with the brainstorming to find out what name would be best and from there, everything started!
It was not an easy and fast process for a picky and perfectionist like me, but it’s out! And, in between all of this I decided to have two channels – in English and Portuguese – so I think it will be like a therapy, where I can learn not to get to hard on me and if I do it with love, half way is done!
Yeah folks, sometimes life turns to a different way, but I’m happy with how it is turning to. I am already a columnist at the platform Brasileiras pelo Mundo (Brazilians Around the World), which is a blog of Brazilian women telling a bit of their story abroad. I have a monthly article about Finland and even though it is only in Portuguese, I think that with a translation app, you will be able to read it! You will find many interesting topics that can help you if you are thinking on moving!
I believe it will be a good way to keep up with the ones we ‘left behind’, an opportunity to meet new people and to share with you a bit of the crazy stuff (or not) that sometimes comes up to my mind!
If I’ll really turn up to a bloggers, I don’t have a clue! I’m not a label fan! I have been so many things throw out the years that I learned to take the best of each situation to mature and evolve as a human. The only thing that I can tell you now is that I am super happy to finally deliver the blog and to have a space where I can share my opinions, my thinking and learn with you guys as well!
In every post I do, I hope to feel the butterflies in my stomach, just how I felt when handling a party! Because, for sure we will have many chitchats here and at least with this post, I already have maaaany tickling my tummy!
So you are very welcome and hope to see you always around!
